This picture of an early session of the Executive Board of the Hotel Trades Council demonstrates how the leaders of all the crafts in the hotel industry were brought together under one organizational roof. Clockwise from Council President Jay Rubin (standing), and each representing a different craft in the hotel trades, are Council Administrative Director David Herman, board members Patrick Kelly, Michael Obermeier, Roger Blair, Peter Crescenti, Treasurer Thomas Burke, Vice-President Frank J. Shanley, Sidney Pudell and Secretary Peter Moroney. Note the photo of a mass indoor rally decorating the office wall, suggesting the growing numeric strength and militancy of the union.
